Frequently asked questions

Let’s make
energy clearer.

From cloudy days to charging your car. Here are useful starting points for your energy conversation.

Solar & electricity

Will solar work on cloudy days?

Panels can generate in diffuse daylight, but output falls with cloud cover and is lower in winter. Shading, roof direction and local conditions all affect the energy your system produces.

Can I sell surplus electricity?

With the right grid connection, metering and retailer plan, surplus generation can be exported. Buy-back rates, export limits and fees vary. Compare the whole electricity plan, including import rates and daily charges.

Will my power stay on in an outage?

A standard grid-connected solar system shuts down during a power cut. Backup requires compatible equipment, isolation and an appropriate circuit design. A battery alone does not guarantee whole-home backup.

Do I need a battery?

No. Solar can operate without a battery. Storage may help when your use is mostly in the evening or you want designed backup capability. Compare the extra cost against your actual needs.

How much will a system cost?

Cost depends on the site, equipment, system size, electrical work and any storage or backup requirements. We do not advertise a one-price package. Ask for a project-specific proposal that identifies GST, inclusions and exclusions.

Is a north-facing roof essential?

Roof direction affects generation, but east- and west-facing layouts can also be worth considering. Shading, available area and when you use electricity should be assessed together.

Are you offering service in my area?

Tell us your town or suburb when you enquire. We will confirm current project availability and installation arrangements before proceeding.

Which brands do you supply?

Models and availability are confirmed in your proposal. Selection depends on system compatibility, project needs and supply; this website does not promise a specific brand.

Can I charge my EV from solar?

With suitable equipment and available generation, solar can contribute to EV charging. Surplus-following features require compatible hardware and configuration. Grid power may still be needed.

Does solar mean I can go off-grid?

A typical grid-connected installation does not make a property off-grid. An off-grid system needs a separate design for seasonal loads, storage and reliable supply.

What warranties are included?

Product warranties and installation workmanship cover are confirmed in the written proposal. Check conditions, exclusions and who handles claims. No particular warranty term is promised on this website.
